I was raised in New England with a library card and far too much time on my hands. After many years of thinking I wanted to be a journalist, I realized that fiction was more fun. I have worked at a university press, two literary agencies, and then Candlewick Press and Holiday House, where I spent eight years editing more than forty wonderful books.
